Rewritten in Microsoft Access 2000. You can now use all your Access 2000 toolbars with Summit Event Manager Pro and have access to design view.
You can now capture middle initial and postnominals (or suffix), for example, John X. Smith PhD, for people's names. This is carried though to the Report Name Format function.
All reports and correspondence can now be exported as report snapshots. A report snapshot is a file (.snp extension) that contains a high quality copy of each page of a Microsoft Access report and preserves the two-dimensional layout, graphics, lines and other embedded objects of the report exactly as they are displayed in print preview in Summit Event Manager. This means that e-mailed correspondence will no longer have the formatting problems sometimes associated with Rich Text Format. People can then use the Snapshot Viewer to view, print, and e-mail a report snapshot. The Snapshot Viewer is automatically installed by Office 2000 the first time you open a report snapshot. You can also install the Snapshot Viewer from the MIE Software CD or download it from this website. Most importantly, unlike RTF, Text and HTML, while snapshots may be printed and viewed, they can not be altered. This prevents a recipient from altering the document you have e-mailed to them.
You can now put people into financial groups. While individual members of the group still get their own confirmation letters and participation reports, only the group leader then gets a group receipt, a group invoice or a group tax/VAT invoice covering all the members of the group.
For larger events you can now search on the Personal Details screen based on surname plus given name. No more searching through 17 Smiths to find the right one.
As well as the normal attendance certificates there is now a generic event attendance certificate that does not require that people are marked as having attended one or more sessions. Anyone who is a confirmed delegate who is marked as having attended the event can get one.
The postal code lookup can now be done in reverse. If you enter a postal code, the software will look up the corresponding suburb/city and state.
You can now broadcast fax a document from the Reporter. The faxes can be set to transmit immediately or at a specified "after hours" time. Automatically fax out your brochures, invitations and registration forms. (Requires WinFax Pro Version 9 or later).
You can now select on the Reporter based on multiple registration types. For example, you can now get all your early member, standard member and late member registration types on the one listing.
You can now select on the Reporter based on multiple add-on selections. If you have 3 or 4 add-ons covering a particular function you can now get all the names out on a single list. You can specify to include a person if they have selected any of the add-ons you choose or to include them only if they have selected all the add-ons you choose. The resulting list of people also has all duplicates removed. Even if someone has 4 or 5 of the add-ons you choose they will only appear once.
You can now select on the Reporter based on confirmed attendance at multiple sessions. You can specify to include a person if they are attending any of the sessions you choose or to include them only if they are attending all the sessions you choose. The resulting list of people also has all duplicates removed. Even if someone is attending 2 or 3 of the sessions you choose they will only appear once.
You can now use the Reporter to select people with no work phone number, no work fax number, no home phone number, no home fax number, no mobile phone number and no e-mail address.
When you do bulk form letters from the Form Letters screen you can now set the system up to automatically record a contact against each person who was sent a form letter.
When you do bulk standard correspondence such as confirmation letters or invoices using the Correspondence screen you can now set the system up to automatically record a contact against each person who was sent the correspondence.
The contacts area has been expanded. Each contact can now have a pre-defined contact type such as Sponsor Acquisition or Marketing. You can produce a report grouped by contact type so you can follow up you event marketing more easily. You now also have a Contacts Reporter so you can select and report on contacts based on Contact Date, Follow-up Date, Contact With and/or Contact Type.
You can now record GST/VAT against discount and extra charges.
Amount Due, Amount Paid and Amount Owing are now displayed on GST/VAT tax invoices.
You can now combine letters and numbers in numbering your trade exhibition booths. You can do this in two ways. For large exhibitions in multiple buildings or areas, you can use the letter first to denote the area. For example, you can have booths A1, A2, A3 and B1, B2, B3 etc. Alternatively, you can set the booth numbering up to create sub-booths so that you can have multiple organisations in the one trade booth. For example 1, 2, 3, 4A, 4B, 5 etc.
You can now use a secure on-line payments facility that uses the latest in 128 bit high security encrypted internet payments technologies and services for delegates to pay online. Neither you or MIE ever see any credit card details - its all done through a totally independent Payments gateway in conjunction with the Commonwealth bank. This is the worlds best and most secure payments service available. Coming soon - not currently available.
No more Internet registrations lost in the wilds of the Internet. If the server hosting your web pages can generate a unique numeric identifier for each page transmitted from the server, Summit can check and report on pages that haven't arrived so that you can have these pages retransmitted. This feature is automatically included in web pages created and hosted by Eagle Applications.
The number of add-ons that can be processed from an Internet registration has been doubled from 5 to 10.
For more security when taking an event file on-site to an event there is a feature to clear all credit card details from the event files. This means that if your event file is lost or stolen you are not putting other peoples credit card information at risk.
The Usual has been replace by a much more comprehensive Copy Activity function. You can still copy from the The Usual but you can now elect to only copy parts of The Usual. You can now also copy all or part of the travel, accommodation and event participation details from any other person on the database. For example, if you have groups of people departing from various cities you are no longer limited to setting up just one of those cities as The Usual. You can copy from a New York departure for another New York departure, from a Los Angeles departure for another Los Angeles departure and so forth.
Payment entry now automatically validates credit card numbers for Bankcard, Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Diners Club, Carte Blanche, Discover and JCB credit cards.
There are more "airline oriented" report name formats to choose from.
When using the Name Plus... listings you can now choose profiles as one of the column contents. This will display all profiles that apply to each person.
